Faisalabad: Accused of murder case convicted
FAISALABAD: Special judge Anti Terrorist Court (ATC) Ishtiaq Ahmad on Thursday awarded capital punishment on two counts to an accused involved in a murder case of Mansoorabad police station.
According to the prosecution, Tariq Ramzan resident of Chak No.203-RB, with the abetment of his brothers- Abid Ramzan and Zahid Ramzan along with other two brothers Nazar Abbas and Tahir had shot dead a shopkeeper Adeel over a sectarian dispute on August 16, 2011.
The convict was directed to pay Rs 200,000 as compensation to the heirs, otherwise, he will have to undergo an additional imprisonment of one year.
The judge acquitted Abid and Zahid by giving them benefit of doubt while Nazar Abbas and Tahir were declared proclaimed offenders who are still at large.
