Kalar Kahar bus tragedy: 5 accused remanded in police custody
FAISALABAD: A local court remanded five accused, involved in the Kalar Kahar bus tragedy, in police custody for investigation.
Earlier, the Madina Town police arrested five accused in the case in which 36 students of Millat Grammar School, Faisalabad were killed when their bus plunged into a ditch due to negligence of the driver. They were arrested after a detailed inquiry into the incident.
Those arrested are: former Faisalabad EDO Education Mian Abdur Rauf, Faisalabad Municipal Degree College Principal Riaz Hussain Shah, Sheikhupura Motor Vehicle Examiner Agha Ghiasudddin, Muhammad Asif, owner of the ill-fated bus, and Excise Inspector Bashir Ahmed Gujjar. Principal Riaz Hussain Shah was EDO Education in 2004 and he had allegedly extended the registration of Millat Grammar School. The police had registered a case against nine persons, including the five accused, on December 12 in the light of a high-level inquiry, which found them guilty.
