Lahore: Man killed during house robbery
LAHORE: Dacoits gunned down a 57-year-old man on offering resistance during house robbery attempt here in Kahna area, police sources said on Monday.
Five dacoits equipped with automatic weapons barged into the residence of Abdul Rashid located in Audit and Accounts Housing Society in Kahna police vicinity after Sunday midnight. The dacoits held up the man at gunpoint and demanded cash and gold ornaments. As Abdul Rashid, said to be a cashier at a local college, offered resistance and tried to overpower one of the bandits, another opened straight fire at him from a close range. The man sustained serious bullet wounds and died on the spot.
The deceased family told the police that the bandits also took away cash and valuables worth tens of thousands of rupees and fled away from the crime scene. The police reached the spot when the bandits had fled away. The police have removed the body to the morgue for an autopsy and are investigating with no arrest made so far.
