Karachi: Suspects remanded in rape, murder case
KARACHI: The Administrative Judge (AJ) of anti-terrorism courts in Karachi on Wednesday remanded two suspects, arrested for rape and murder of an eight years old girl, to police custody for investigation.
Bashir and Abdul Majeed were arrested by the police for their alleged involvement in the rape and murder of girl (A) on December 12. Police said that suspects confessed to have raped and murdered a girl and dumping her body in Gulistan–e–Johar.
The AJ also remanded two suspects to police custody for their alleged involvement in a kidnapping for ransom case. Mohammad Faiz and Jumman Khan were arrested for kidnapping Mohammad Faizan, a relative of Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court (SHC), on September 17 from Gulshan–e–Iqbal.
Police had recovered the abducted from Katcha area of Ghotki and arrested the suspects.
Man gets life for murder: Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ), South, Shahid Hussain Chandio, awarded life term to Wali Mohammed for killing his neighbour in 2007 over a petty dispute.
The judgment was announced after hearing arguments from both sides and statements of 11 prosecution witnesses. Wali Mohammed killed his neighbour Mohammad Kabir on May 28, 2007, by slitting his throat with a sharp-edged knife after they develop serious differences over a petty dispute, the prosecution said. He was also asked to pay a fine Rs0.2 million to the legal heirs of the deceased and in case of default he would undergo another one month in prison.
