Lahore: Advocate found with forged degree
LAHORE: The Disciplinary Committee of the Punjab Bar Council has ruled that advocate Qaisar Abbas had got himself enrolled as an advocate with the PbBC on the basis of a forged LLB degree.
The committee, comprising its Chairman Sheikh Abdul Ghaffar and Jam Muhammad Younas, Shafqat Ali Bhatti, Tahir Nasarullah Warriach and Garwah as members, announced its decision on December 12 while hearing the petition of advocate Muhammad Afzal Khurram.
The committee wrote in its decision that it received a verification of the LLB degree of advocate Qaisar Abbas on November 15 wherein it was declared that Abbas did not pass the LLB examination.
The committee further said since the respondent advocate had already been enrolled as an advocate of the Supreme Court and Punjab Bar Council have no jurisdiction to proceed further against him in the instant matter, therefore, this issue was referred to the Pakistan Bar Council for its decision.
