No check on purse-snatchers in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI: Bike-riding gangs of purse-snatchers, active in almost all localities of the city, do not hesitate to target women even in crowded bazaars.
Two bike-riding youngsters attacked a woman in Jhota Bazaar and took away her purse containing Rs19,000 and gold ornaments here on Thursday morning.
The wife of Lieutenant Colonel (r) Sajjad-ur-Rehman, a resident of Askari-10, Qasim Market, lodged a complaint with the Cantonment Police Station, saying that she was busy in shopping in Jhota Bazaar when two bike-riding purse-snatchers hit her, grabbed her purse and disappeared in the crowd.
According to her, police personnel on duty didn’t chase them and let them escape.
