Rawalpindi: Man posing as ISI official arrested
RAWALPINDI: The Cantonment Police Station arrested a man impersonating himself as an officer of an intelligence agency and recovered a fake identity card of the agency and his three photographs in uniform, police said.
The SHO told ‘The News’ that patrolmen spotted a man acting suspiciously and asked him to prove his identity. He added that the man introduced himself as Lieutenant Colonel Kashif Shabbir attached with the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).
The cops took him to the police station after his contradictory statements. The SHO said that when the police verified his identity card from the concerned department, it was found to be fake.
He said that the suspect, Kashif Shabbir, son of Mohammad Shabbir, hailing from Chak Sikandar, Rajwal, Kharian, could be involved in anti-state activities.
