Shot dead in Karachi
KARACHI: A young man was found shot dead near a cinema within the remit of the Kalri police station in the early hours of Friday, police said.
They added that a pistol and a motorcycle without a registration plate were also found with the body.
The police said the victim had suffered three bullet wounds. His body was found near Crown Cinema, Mauripur Road, they added.
The officials identified the victim as 30-year-old Nawaz, son of Yaqoob, with the help of an identity card found at the crime-scene.
Some complainants in robbery cases also identified the young man, who they said had robbed them, the Kalri SHO said.
It seemed that the man had been shot by his accomplices over some dispute or by someone he might have tried to rob, the SHO added.
The police said the victim hailed from Gujranwala. His heirs took away the body for burial in his hometown, they added.
