Islamabad: Attempt to smuggle heroin to Nigeria foiled
ISLAMABAD: An attempt to smuggle over 6 kilograms of heroin to Nigeria has been foiled by Customs officials here at Benazir Bhutto International Airport.
According to a press release issued here Friday, as a result of strict and vigilant policies of the Collector Customs Islamabad and Deputy-Collector Imran Bukhari, an attempt to smuggle over 6 kilograms of heroin to Nigeria has been foiled and a Nigerian citizen namely David John has been arrested.
Investigations are underway to trace out the local handlers of Nigerian citizen and the factory where the contrabands were artfully concealed into ‘hair clips’. The confiscated contraband drugs worth millions of US dollars. Accused David John is on 3-day physical remand granted by the court, for further investigations.
