3 PR officials booked in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI: Three officials of Pakistan Railways (PR) reservation office were booked on charges of embezzling ‘travel vouchers’ issued to police officials, official source said.
Besides three officials of reservation office, two lady clerks one posted at Rawalpindi reservation office and the other associated with Karachi reservation office would be investigated by the Railway police in connection with the embezzlement case.
The case was registered after the three railway officials Mushtaq Ahmed, Mohammad Saddique and Mohammad Haroon were found guilty in the top-level inquiry launched after reports that hundreds of travel vouchers valuing Rs299,000 issued to Sindh police officials were found missing.
After the reports, Commercial Manager Railways Fazal Nabi carried out a surprise raid and seized the relevant office record and later launched an inquiry which found the three officials guilty.
Malik Mohammad Zamurd, inspector Railway police confirmed that a case was registered against the three railway officials; however, none of them was arrested so far.
