Karachi: Elderly man shot dead; body identified
KARACHI: An elderly man was shot dead in the Bara Market area, while a man whose body was found in two pieces near the Kakri Ground on Monday was identified by his brother on Wednesday.
Feroze Khan, 72, was killed near the Bara Market, Super Highway, in the Sachal police limits in the morning.
According to police, Khan was returning after offering Fajr prayers when four men, riding two motorcycles, came across him at a short distance from his house and pumped bullets into him. Some residents of the area took him to hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. Khan suffered five bullet wounds. He was a wood trader in the Bara Market and hailed from the Mohmand Agency. His family had an enmity in their hometown with people of a rival cast, the police said.
Khan’s elder son Javed Khan had been murdered in Sohrab Goth over the same enmity two months back, and the police apprehended that the same elements might have been involved in Feroze Khan’s killing.
He has left behind a widow and five children. Meanwhile, the Baghdadi police located the family of a man whose body was found lying in two pieces near the Kakri Ground on Monday. A person, Sheheryar Kuchhi, visited the police station on Wednesday morning with the picture of his brother and told the police that he wanted to see the picture of the deceased person whose body was found from their jurisdiction.
Upon seeing the picture, Shehreyar identified the deceased as his elder brother Abid Kuchhi. Sheheryar told the police that his elder brother was a Suzuki loader and had left the house on Monday morning as per his daily routine but never returned. Abid was a resident of Custom Lines, Baghdadi, and the family says that they have no enmity with anyone.
