Karachi: Two killed in separate incidents
KARACHI: Two people were killed in separate incidents in the city on Tuesday. Nayyar Abbas, 35, a salesman at a private company, was shot dead in Orangi Town.
According to the police, Abbas had gone to Orangi Town to deliver some merchandise to his customers and to collect the dues from them. In the meantime, two men riding on a motorcycle asked Abbas to stop and opened fire on him as he tried to escape.
The assailants fled the scene leaving an injured Abbas behind. The injured was rushed to a hospital where he died during treatment. Police suspected the incident to be of a sectarian nature. The deceased was also a scout.
Later, some activists of the Imamia Students Organization staged a protest and demanded of the government to arrest the killers of Abbas. In a separate case, a bullet-riddled body of a man in his mid-thirties, who was later identified as Mohammed Umer, was found in Memon Goth on Tuesday morning.
The police shifted the body to a hospital and also aired a message on the police control about the recovery of the body. Later, they received a message from the Khokhrapar police station, informing them that a complaint about a missing man had been lodged with them on Monday night.
Later, a team from the Khokhrapar police station identified the deceased as the one about whom they had received a complaint. They added that the deceased belonged to the Katchi Community, and his father, Bachoo Saleh, had also been killed some four years ago out of some personal enmity.
