Mansehra: Robbers kill passenger, injure another
MANSEHRA: One person was killed and another sustained injuries when robbers opened fire on them in Pulrah area late Monday night.
Eyewitnesses said that five armed robbers intercepted a passenger vehicle at Muhar Road in Pulrah and asked the passengers at gunpoint to handover valuables and cash. They said two of the passengers, Qamar Zaman and Ali Asghar, offered resistance, prompting the robbers to open fire on them.
Qamar Zaman received multiple bullets wounds and died instantly while Ali Asghar sustained critical injuries and was shifted to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital in Mansehra. The Pulrah police started the investigation after lodging the first information report.
Meanwhile, a group of people from Tanawal told reporters on Tuesday the outlaws had stepped up their activities in Tanawal after the withdrawal of the Elite Force from the area. They said the Elite Force was withdrawn from area after the killing of the four alleged timber smugglers last month.
