FAISALABAD: Jhang City police have arrested two accused on charges of kidnapping, raping and killing a minor girl due to non-payment of ransom nearly two months ago. According to police officials, Basti Shehniwali resident, Asiya, 7, was allegedly abducted by her neighbor Salman along with his accomplice Abid Husain on December 7, 2011.
KARACHI: A suspected militant on Monday recorded his statement before a judicial magistrate confessing that he had planned and executed a suicide attack on the Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine in Oct 2010 and was also involved in last year`s botched terrorist act in the Seaview area.
TIMERGARA: Police took a doctor and his assistants into custody here on Monday for allegedly running a clinic without having proper documents.
Officials said that a team of health department comprising Dr Liaqat Ali and senior clerk along with local police raided a private clinic in Timergara and arrested Dr Javed Khan, laboratory assistant Tayyeb and pharmacy assistant Ahmad Khan.
PESHAWAR: Police on Monday seized fake currency and documents, automatic machines and arrested the owner of a factory during a raid in limits of West Cantonment Police Station here.
Speaking at a press conference at west cantonment police station the cantonment circle Superintendent of Police Dr Mian Saeed Ahmed said the factory was located at Donga Gali Street. The owner was identified as Mujeeb-ur-Rehman.

According to a spokesman, the bureau arrested on Monday Murtaza Masood, the owner of MMA Securities, on charges of cheating public at large.

SHIKARPUR: Teachers and students risked their lives to save a boy from being kidnapped at a high school here on Monday and suffered injuries in the process.
Police rushed to the school after receiving information about the kidnapping attempt and succeeded in arresting one of the kidnappers identified as Jameel Brohi.
PESHAWAR: A local court on Monday issued release order of two persons on bail allegedly charged in a murder case of a woman and her daughter some four months ago.
Additional District and Sessions Judge, Haq Nawaz Swati, allowed bail petitions of two accused Saifur Rehman and Nawab Khan, residents of Agha Mir Jani Shah, and directed them to furnish two sureties of Rs200,000 each.
MIRPURKHAS: The district and sessions court of Mirpurkhas set free 36 bonded labourers, including women and children, after recording their statements here on Monday.
Ramzan Khaskheli and Dhanji Kolhi had complained to the court in separate applications that 36 bonded labourers were detained at the farmland of Ameen Mangrio and Umer Mari who forced them to work without wages or share in the harvest.
