WANA: Militant commander held in hospital raid
WANA: Security forces raided a public sector hospital here on Friday and arrested an injured Taliban commander, Qasim, his two brothers and two other fighters. The military officials said a group of Pakistani Taliban had attacked the Nato forces at Naway Adda area of Afghanistan’s Paktika province three days back in which three militants were killed and three others, including Qasim, sustained injuries.
They said the injured militants, including commander Qasim, were brought to Wana and admitted to the government’s Agency Headquarters Hospital. “The forces raided the hospital and arrested Qasim, his two brothers and two other militants who were there for his care,” said an official, requesting not to be named.
He said the injured commander belonged to a group of militants led by Commander Shamsullah. His group operated separately though it was a part of the Ahmadzai Wazir Taliban militants led by Maulvi Nazeer in South Waziristan.
