2 dead in Balochistan
QUETTA: Two people were killed and five others, including three security men, wounded in separate incidents of firing and landmine blasts in Balochistan on Saturday.
According to police, unidentified armed motorcyclists killed Umar Sharif and injured Murad at a hotel in Khuzdar, about 360 KM southeast of Quetta.
The deceased and wounded were shifted to hospital. “The deceased had received multiple wounds on his upper torso that caused his instant death” said a police officer. Investigation was underway. However, no arrest was made so far.
In Sui, a person was killed and three security personnel were wounded in two separate landmine blasts. Sources said Shafi was on his way in Janibari area of Sui when he stepped on a landmine that went off with a huge blast, killing him on the spot.
Separately, three personnel of security personnel sustained injuries when their vehicle hit a landmine at Bhopat area of Sui. The injured were shifted to hospital.
Meanwhile, security men foiled an attempt to blow up railway track at Shahi Chowki No 9 in Dera Murad Jamali.
In Quetta, two rockets were fired, triggering panic among the people. Police said the first rocket was fired by unidentified people from unknown location landed at a graveyard near Sabzal Road and the second landed near Spinney Road. However, no loss of life and property was reported. The law enforcement agencies rushed to the site and cordoned off the area.
