Capital escapes major terror bid in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: A police team of Shahzad Town Police circle (CIA wing) arrested two would-be suicide bombers here on Tuesday in Zia Masjid area, and shifted them to police station.
During interrogation, the accused admitted that they were on a mission to attack sensitive installation in the federal capital. “We were waiting for the suicide jackets and other ammunition to cause devastation in the capital city. One of our aides was due in the capital on Thursday to provide us the explosive and jackets,” an official source told The Nation quoting the accused.
A spokesperson of Islamabad police confirmed the arrest of terrorists.
