Islamabad: 2 booked on terrorism charges
ISLAMABAD: Two suspects held on Dec 23, 2011 by the capital police were booked under the terrorism charges on Wednesday.
On Dec 28, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Bani Amin Khan in his press conference claimed that the Crime Investigation Department (CID) foiled a suicide attack at a mosque in Shakrial area by arresting six alleged terrorists.
The suspects, Ali Gul and Akbar Ali, booked on Wednesday by Shehzad Town police were among the six alleged terrorists arrested on Dec 23, 2011.
The police said that they were planning to target Rehmania mosque in Shakrial.
The facts extracted from the suspects during preliminary interrogation led to the arrest of an alleged suicide bomber in Peshawar, who was identified as Musa Khan. The police also recovered a suicide jacket from him.
The police said after the arrest, the terrorists were handed over to Peshawar police to trace the whereabouts of their accomplices.
