Islamabad: Police traced 75 murder cases last year
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police traced a total of 75 murder cases during the last year while collected evidences against the 138 involved culprits and submitted the challans to concerned courts, the police spokesman said.
The police managed to trace 75 murders after collecting forensic as well as other evidences. The City Zone traced 15 murders and arrested 24 alleged accused, Saddar Zone worked out 22 murder cases and nabbed 51 culprits, Industrial Areas Zone traced six murder cases and nabbed 15 alleged killers while Rural Zone traced 32 murder cases besides apprehending 48 persons involved in these cases.
On reviewing the report, IGP Bani Amin Khan and SSP Muhammad Yousuf Malik said that there is no alternate to life adding it is responsibility of the police to trace the killers of innocent people and provide justice to the bereaved families. SHOs and investigation officers were directed to give priority to investigation of murder cases.
