Islamabad: 25 persons arrested in capital; hashish and weapons seized
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police has arrested 25 persons from various areas of the city for their alleged involvement in drug peddling and theft, and recovered 2.7 kilogrammes of hashish, heroin and weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said on Friday.
According to details, Sub-Inspectors (SI) Muhammad Ishaq, Abid Khan and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Nasir Manzoor arrested three men, Awais, Adnan and Zulfiqar Ali, and recovered two bottles of wine and a pistol from their possession.
Kohsar Police ASI Muhammad Nadeem apprehended Farhan for possession of a bottle of wine, while Golra Police ASI Muhammad Iqbal nabbed Mehboob ur Rehman for possessing a 30-bore pistol.
SI Muhammad Zameer from Sabzi Mandi Police nabbed Saeed Ashraf for having 106 grammes of heroin.
SI Anar from Siahal Police stopped a car (PRP-4705) for checking near Kortana and recovered 2.7 kg hashish from it. However, the occupants of the car managed to escape. SI Anar also arrested a thief and recovered stolen cash and gold ornaments from him.
On a tip-off, Margallah Police SI Abdul Sattar raided a house in Sector G-8/2 after getting a search warrant and arrested 18 persons, including seven women, for their alleged involvement in immoral activities.
Those arrested were identified as Pervez, Siddique, Naveed, Kiran, Waheed Gul, Aman, Bushra, Sobia, Rafique, Ayesha, Shahid, Ejaz, Kiran, Fazal Wahid, Jameel, Habib, Maria, Tabia and Bani Akbar.
Cases have been registered against these persons and an investigation has been launched. app
