Lahore: 3 killed, 6 injured in city incidents
LAHORE: Three people were killed and six others were injured in separate incidents in the provincial metropolis on Thursday.A 20-year-old youth was gunned down over a petty issue in the Misri Shah police jurisdiction. The victim was identified as Waqas, a resident of Kachupura.
According to police, the victim visited a mobile phone repairing shop to get his cell phone repaired on Wednesday. The shopkeeper named Islam had demanded Rs 150 for the maintenance of his cell phone.
On the day of the incident, as the victim went to get his cell phone back, the shopkeeper demanded Rs 200 instead of Rs 150. Both exchanged harsh words over extra charges. The shopkeeper got infuriated, opened pistol fire on Waqas. As a result, he suffered serious bullet wounds in his chest. He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police have shifted the body to morgue and registered a case against the accused person on the complaint of the victim’s brother.
Swindlers killed a 30-year-old man by offering him some poisonous drugs in the Kot Lakhpat police area on Thursday.The deceased was identified as Arfat Ali, a resident of Narang Mundi. According to police, Arfat went to Allah–Hoo Chowk where two unidentified swindlers gave him poisonous drugs and robbed him of money and a mobile phone. After that his condition went critical. He was rushed to hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Police found documents and ID card from the pocket of the deceased and informed his heirs and handed the body to them.
A woman died while six other people sustained serious injuries in different road accidents in the provincial metropolis on Thursday. A woman, Najma, was killed after her speeding car, bearing number plate H-733, hit a median near Kala Shah Kako in the Shahdra police area. She died on the spot. She was coming back from Rawalpindi.
Two people, Amir and Guddu, were injured while doing wheelie stunt in the Garhi Shahu police jurisdiction. A man sustained injuries when his motorbike slipped in the Gulberg area. A woman suffered serious injuries when a speeding car hit her in the Garhi Shahu police jurisdiction. Two cyclists suffered injuries when a rashly driven car hit them in the Township police area. They were rushed to hospital where their condition was stated to be out of danger.
