Lahore: Student shot dead on doorstep; killers flee
LAHORE: A 20-year-old student was gunned down at his doorstep by two unidentified persons on Tuesday. The shooting took place in the Factory Area police precincts.
The family of the victim Muhammad Nadeem told police that he had complained about “few elements threatening him at his academy”. “Three bullets pierced through the different parts of his body. He died on the spot,” a senior police officer, who visited the crime scene, said. He said so far no application had been filed for a criminal case against the accused persons, but the body was handed over to the ill-fated family.
Terror suspect arrested: A terror suspect has reportedly been taken into custody by the police and other law-enforcement agencies’ personnel from a Ferozewala village on Tuesday.
Although the police concerned declined to comment on the development, a senior security source confirmed that a man, yet to be identified, has been picked up. “This was a joint operation of the Lahore police and the security agencies’ personnel,” he added.
