Karachi: Man freed, ‘kidnappers’ arrested
KARACHI: A man kidnapped last year was recovered and two suspects were arrested in a joint police and Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) operation in a Kati Pahari area on Wednesday. According to a statement issued by the CPLC, 48-yearold petroleum dealer Ahsan Ahmed was kidnapped on Nov 6, 2011 within the remit of the Saeedabad police station.
An FIR (No.750/2011) was subsequently registered. The kidnappers had made a phone call to the family, demanding a ransom of Rs4 million for the release of the kidnapped man.
During the raid the police arrested suspects Naushad alias Guddo and Bismillah Kakar and recovered two TT pistols from their possession, the CPLC press release added.
