Karachi: TTP chief confesses killed KP minister’s son

KARACHI: The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan chief, who was arrested last week, has confessed to have been involved in the attack on the house of the KPK information minister. In the assault, the minister’s son was killed.

Earlier, the police claimed to have arrested four militants including TTP Karachi chief Abdul Qayyum Mehsud, M Sharif, Habib Mehsud and Usman.  Ghulam Shabbir Sheikh, the additional inspector-general of CID, disclosed the arrest in a press conference at the CID Complex on January 5. The police also recovered two suicide vests, two BM missiles, two rockets, four Kalashnikovs, six TT pistols and 200 bullets from their possession.



SSP CID Fayyaz Khan said the arrested TTP members were trained in Waziristan and involved in several high profile cases and disclosed that during course of investigation, Qayyum had confessed that he along with his other associates got off the bomb at the residence of the minister and claimed the life of Mian Rashid Hussain son of Provincial Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain. Police sources said that KPK police high ups asked Sindh police to hand over the accused to them.
