Quetta: Car lifters gang busted in Quetta

QUETTA: Quetta police have arrested gangs including policemen involved in car and bike lifting and other heinous crimes in the provincial capital. DIG Operation Quetta Nazeer Ahmed Kurd while addressing a news conference at DIG Operation Office here on Wednesday said: “A gang including policemen snatched a car from a citizen on gunpoint but was arrested on police picket while driving away the snatched vehicle to their den.”




He said that the car lifter gang included Ajab Khan the resident of Loralai, a constable of Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF), Javed Ahmed a resident of Quetta, a constable of Balochistan Constabulary (BC) and Jahanzeb Qazi, resident of Mastung.

He recalled that earlier, these two police constables were challaned in a robbery case but court released them and later their police service was reinstated. He added that the sitting police constables held in car snatching were already wanted in many criminal cases registered with other police stations but they were allowed to continue their service in police department after the court released them in a robbery case. He said that three car lifters including two policemen and three motorcycle lifters were being interrogated. They told probers who that some influentials were patronising them.
