Islamabad: SNGPL registers FIRs against gas pilferers
ISLAMABAD: The SNGPL has registered five FIRs against people involved in pilferage of gas in different parts of the city. Cases have been registered against these people for supplying illegal gas connections to residents of different housing societies and robbing the national exchequer of billions of rupees.
The SNGPL registered an FIR against Sana Valley Housing Society along the Adiala Road with Saddar Bairuni Police Station under Section 379 nominating Professor Naseer, Abdul Ghaffar, Faisal and M Arshad (plumber). According to the FIR, the accused with the cooperation of SNGPL officials got connections from the main underground supply line and supplied gas to more than 250 houses illegally. The nominated persons were getting more than Rs1,000 per month from every house in the housing society. The second FIR was registered against the Red Chilli fast food outlet situated at Bhara Kahu under Section 462-B with the Bhara Kahu Police Station in January 2012 and nominated M Saad, Zafar Mehmood, Muhammad Zia and Raja Naseer in it.
