HANGU: Police foiled a bid of smuggling edible items including cattle to Afghanistan by arresting the smugglers besides seizing their 12 trucks at Thall Road on Friday.
On a tip off, police established checkposts in various areas of district Hangu to frustrate the attempt. During the checking, police stopped a convoy of trucks and confiscated eight trucks loaded with sugar, two trucks of fertilizer and flour besides two trucks of cattle.
