Landikotal: Smuggling bids foiled
LANDIKOTAL: The authorities at the Torkham border seized thousands of litres of while the Khassadar force in Jamrud subdivision foiled a bid to smuggle sugar to Afghanistan, sources said. The sources said that a truck (2693-GLT) transporting vegetables to Afghanistan was stopped at the border and 2,940 litres wine concealed in tins was recovered from it.
The driver and his helper in the truck were arrested. Meanwhile, the Jamrud administration during routine checking recovered 200 bags of sugar from the hidden cavities of a truck at the Takhta Baig checkpost, Political Tehsildar Shakeel Khan told The News.
