Karachi: Some 65 persons lost their lives last week

KARACHI: Some 65 persons lost their lives last week, of whom 14 were shot dead, 12 were murdered, three were burnt to death, three committed suicide, while 12 bodies were recovered and 21 died in accidents.

At least 992 robberies were committed, in which 410 mobile phones, 97 cars and 148 motorcycles were snatched. People were robbed of valuables in 337 other incidents of robberies. At least 374 cases of thefts were reported last week, in which 107 cars and 172 motorcycles were taken away from different parts of the metropolis.

According to the police data, 100 miscreants were arrested and 219 articles were recovered. All the robberies, thefts and robberies were confirmed by police sources.

PREVIOUS WEEK: Some 59 persons lost their lives in the previous week, of which 14 were shot dead, 13 were murdered, four of them were burnt to death, four committed suicide, while 10 bodies were recovered and 14 were killed in accidents.

At least 955 robberies were committed of which 411 mobile phones were snatched or stolen, 90 cars and 137 motorcycles were snatched. People were robbed of valuables. Around 317 other incidents of robberies were reported in all. At least 385 cases of thefts were reported in the previous week, in which 115 cars, 173 motorcycles were taken away from different parts of the metropolis.

According to the police data 135 miscreants were arrested and 200 articles were recovered. All the robberies, thefts, vehicles snatched and stolen and mobile phones snatched and stolen were received by the police sources.
