KARACHI: Some armed men have looted gold ornaments worth millions of rupees from a jewellery shop in the limits of Gulbahar Police.

According to police, the incident took place at Aleem Jewellers located at Nazimabad No 1, where some robbers, taking the benefit of Sunday holiday, pulled the shutter of the shop with the help of a pulley and ran away with jewelleries worth more than Rs2 million.

SHO Arif Usman said the owner of the shop claimed that the looters took away ornaments of gold and silvers as these valuables were owned by the customers. He suspected that the incident took place in mysterious circumstances and the police would also have to take the owner into investigation. Despite his claim, the CCTV footage of the shop did not prove the same, he maintained.
