6 dacoits held in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: The Shahzad Town Police Station has arrested six dacoits and recovered pistols, looted items and a snatched car from them, the police spokesman said on Tuesday.
Some unidentified men had snatched a mobile phone and jewellery from CDA Deputy Director Muhammad Shamshad and his wife on December 12, 2011, while a car (MNK-2883) was snatched from Jameel Akhtar, son of Abdul Rasheed, resident of Kotli district, in the jurisdiction of the police station upon which police high-ups had ordered arrest of criminals involved in these cases. A team comprising sub-inspectors Muneer Hussain Jafferi and Shaukat Hussain finally managed to arrest six men who were involved in these cases.
The dacoits were identified as Muhammad Yaqub, son of Ghulam Hussain, resident of Khanewal, Qaisar Mehmud, son of Bashir Ahmed, Imran, son of Shafique Hussain, Waseem Kiyani, son of Ghulam Hussain, Khurram Rasheed, son of Muhammad Rasheed (Islamabad), and Muhammad Pervez, son of Karam Dad (Rawalpindi).
Pistols, snatched car and other looted items were recovered from their possession. The arrested men confessed to their involvement in dacoities in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Further investigation is underway from them.
