Islamabad: Gangsters held, weapons seized
ISLAMABAD: Shehzad Town police on Tuesday arrested a gang of six dacoits and recovered three pistols, looted items worth thousands of rupees and a snatched car from their possession.
According to details, these gangsters snatched mobile phone and jewellery at gunpoint from CDA Deputy Director Muhammad Shamshad and his wife on December 12, 2011, in the area of Shehzad Town. Likewise, a car (MNK-2883) was also snatched from one Jameel Akhtar. Following these incidents, SSP Muhammad Yousuf Malik directed SP Faisal Bashir Memon to arrest the culprits. Memon constituted special teams, which have succeeded in arresting the group.
The dacoits were identified as Muhammad Yaquab, Qaisar Mehmud, Shafique Hussain, Waseem Kiyani, Khuram Rasheed, and Muhammad Pervez. Police also recovered three 30-bore pistols, a snatched car and other looted items from their possession.
The gangsters have confessed committing the crimes, however, police says the interrogation is still underway in order to get tip of from them.
Islamabad Inspector General of Police Bani Amin Khan has appreciated the performance of policemen and announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for them.
