Lahore: ATC indicts 3 alleged killers
LAHORE: An Anti Terrorism Court on Tuesday framed charges against three accused, allegedly involved in killing three persons, including an ASI of Pakistan Railways Police.
The court has framed charges against Imran, Nadeem and Awais. The court has directed prosecution witnesses to appear before the court by January 23.
As per incident’s details, on September 27, 2011, a Pan Market merchant Wajid and a Contractor Zahid were buying dates from a vendor along with his fellow Contractor Shafeeq when three bike riders came there, opened fire on them and fled away. When suspects violated one-way traffic, two on-duty railway policemen stopped the motorcycle and managed to overpower one of the suspects.
In the meantime, a Railway police ASI, who came to see on-duty officials, also managed to overpower another suspect following which the third suspect opened fire on ASI Rana Zahid Pervaiz of Nankana district. However, attackers managed to flee the scene while the three injured were rushed to Mayoa Hospital where Wajid , Zahid and ASI Pervaiz succumbed to their wounds.
Later, police registered a criminal case and arrested the said accused and produced the challan before the court.
