Islamabad: 23 absconders nabbed in capital in last fortnight
ISLAMABAD: Police arrested 23 absconders in the capital over the last two weeks during a special crackdown, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.
According to police, City Zone nabbed six proclaimed offenders while Saddar Zone arrested five offenders during this period. Similarly, Industrial Area police apprehended one proclaimed offender while Rural Zone arrested 12 proclaimed offenders during the last two weeks.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Bani Amin Khan has asked Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Islamabad to direct all police officials to intensify this campaign and inform their offices regularly about the progress.
Various police stations in Islamabad on Wednesday also apprehended five outlaws involved in different crimes from various areas of the city and recovered 70 bottles of liquor, a stolen car and three pistols from their possession.
An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Javed Iqbal from Shalimar Police Station recovered a car from an accused, Muhammad Niaz. Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Razzaq from Ramna police arrested a culprit, Syed Sajjad Hussain Shah, and recovered 70 bottles of liquor from his possession, while SI Muhammad Afras of Tarnol police recovered a 30-bore pistol from an accused, Muhammad Farooq Khan.
Sub-Inspector Munir Hussain from Shahzad Town police station nabbed two culprits, Waseem Kiani and Khurram Rasheed, and recovered two pistols from them. Cases have been registered against those arrested and further investigations are underway.
