KARACHI: Four people were killed in separate incidents in the city on Wednesday. Noor Shah and his cousin, Abdullah, in their mid-thirties, were shot to death by unidentified men riding on a motorcycle in Machchar Colony when the former were on their way home after offering Asr prayers.

Police shifted the victims to a hospital where they died during the course of first aid, the SHO of Docks police, Madad Ali Zardari, said. The deceased, who hailed from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, were traders of spare parts.

Noor Shah had gotten married a few months ago, and according to police’s primary investigation, the marriage was against the will of the girl’s family.

In a separate case, armed bandits barged into a cell phone shop in Mehmoodabad No 6 and demanded of the salesman, Ahsan, to hand over cash and cell phones and shot him when he tried to overpower them.

The salesman died in a hospital during the course of first aid. The deceased was a resident of Lines Area. An officer of a private firm was gunned down in Sharifabad police limits on Wednesday night. Adnan Shaikh, 35, was fired upon and seriously injured while his vehicle was passing from near Liquatabad Underpass in the night.

According to SHO Sharifabad police station Nadeem Khan, police rushed to the spot and immediately shifted the injured to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he expired during treatment. Police also took into custody the damaged vehicle (ADB-586) and questioned the eye witnesses who narrated that the deceased was fired upon by two armed men riding a motorcycle. Adnan Sheikh received a bullet on his chest that became the cause of his death. The police seized an empty shell of 9MM pistol from the crime scene. Police, however, described Adnan’s murder as target killing and were ascertaining the facts to find the motive behind the murder.
