Karachi: CID nabs 2 men involved in target killings
KARACHI: The Crime Investigation Department (CID), Sindh, claimed to have arrested two suspects on Wednesday for their alleged involvement in the killing of their rival political party’s activists.
Acting on a tip-off, a CID team raided a house near Rizvia Shaheed Road in the Nabi Bux police area. Upon seeing the police, the suspects opened fire and an encounter ensued, following which Mohammad Amir alias Lala and Mohammad Irfan were arrested and a Kalashnikov and a TT pistol were recovered from their possession.
SSP CID Mohammad Fayyaz Khan said that during the interrogation the suspects confessed to killing Mohammad Hanif, a former Nazim of a political party, in the Risala police limits on January-25, 2011. They revealed that they had also killed their rival political party’s activists Kashif, Jaffer, Fareed and Saeed alias Kalu in the Risala police limits during the same period.
