Two militants killed in Bara clash

BARA: Two militants were killed in a clash with the volunteers of the Akakhel Amn Lashkar in Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency late Tuesday night, local sources said.

The sources said that the militants belonging to the banned Lashkar-e-Islam attacked the position of Amn Lashkar in Akakhel area of Bara. The sources said the tribal volunteers repulsed the attack and killed two militants identified as Rehmanullah and Sadiq. The bodies of the militants were shifted to the Milward FC camp.



Also, a tribal elder Abdul Khaliq was killed while his son Qadae Khan injured when their house was hit by a mortar shell in Nala area of Bara. In another incident, a woman was injured when security forces allegedly opened fire on a vehicle for violating the curfew in Merikhel area of Akakhel, the sources added.

Meanwhile, to check the movement of militants and their attacks against police checkposts in the jurisdiction of Sarband Police Station in Peshawar, the Frontier Corps deployed dozens of soldiers in vacant houses on roadside between Qamberabad market and Inqilab Khwar in Shalobar area of Bara.
