Dr Sangi’s kidnappers demand ransom in Larkana
LARKANA: The kidnappers have demanded a huge ransom amount to free Dr Abdul Rab Sangi and his driver Wajid Ali who were kidnapped on November 19 near Arija while administering anti-polio drops.
Talking to reporters on Thursday Muhammad Siddique Sangi, father of the kidnapped doctor said that he had received a call from the alleged kidnappers about a week ago.
Being a retired teacher, he said, he could not afford to pay an amount of over Rs4 million which the kidnappers had demanded for release of his son and the driver.
Dr Sangi was the in-charge medical officer of Basic Health Unit Sajjan Sangi.
Ali Gohar Sangi, a close relative of the kidnapped doctor, said that efforts by the family members and police were continuing to trace out the doctor and his driver but regretted that they were clueless. He said till last week family of the doctor had received phone calls from the alleged kidnappers who demanded ransom.
Khair Muhammad Shaikh, vice president of PPP Larkana district called for sustained efforts for safe recovery of the kidnapped men. DHO Dr Abdul Fatah, also expressed his concern over the kidnapping.
