KARACHI: A sub-inspector of the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) was gunned down by two attackers in an ambush in the jurisdiction of the Mominabad police station. Asghar Ali Tarar, 50, was killed with an automatic weapon as he was en route for his office in his Suzuki Cultus and was driving past the Hyrdri Imambargah.
A five-year-old boy, Hamza, also received bullet injuries in the attack. Investigators termed Tarar’s murder a target killing incident.
