3 dacoits killed in Sukkur
SUKKUR: Three dacoits were killed by Punjab police on Sunday in an area lying on the Sindh-Punjab border. District Police Officer at Rahimyar Khan, Sohail Zafar, while talking to reporters, said that Assistant Superintendent of Police at Sadiqabad, Tanveer Ahmed Tunio, acted on a tip off on dacoit movement on the Sindh-Punjab border and he acted accordingly by cordoning the area in the jurisdiction of Kot Sabzul police station off.
The information was that Owais Khan, a man abducted from Bahawalpur, was being moved by the dacoits.
The DPO further said that a little while later the police party being led by the ASP had an encounter with the armed dacoits who took to open fire at the police. In the incident a passer-by was injured, who was shifted to the Shaikh Zaid Bin Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan.
