Karachi: Some 60 persons lost their lives last week

KARACHI: Some 60 persons lost their lives last week, of whom 11 were shot dead, 15 were murdered, three were burnt to death, two committed suicide, 11 were found dead and 18 died in accidents.

At least 1,033 robberies were committed in which 450 mobile phones, 106 cars and 179 motorcycles were snatched. People were robbed of valuables in 298 other incidents of robberies. At least 364 cases of thefts were reported last week, in which 118 cars, 173 motorcycles were taken away from different parts of the metropolis.

According to the police data, 40 miscreants were arrested and 91 articles were recovered. All the robberies, thefts were confirmed by police sources.

PREVIOUS WEEK: Some 65 persons lost their lives last week, of whom 14 were shot dead, 12 were murdered, three were burnt to death, three committed suicide, while 12 bodies were recovered and 21 died in accidents.

At least 992 robberies were committed, in which 410 mobile phones, 97 cars and 148 motorcycles were snatched. People were robbed of valuables in 337 other incidents of robberies. At least 374 cases of thefts were reported last week, in which 107 cars and 172 motorcycles were taken away from different parts of the metropolis.

According to the police data, 100 miscreants were arrested and 219 articles were recovered.

All the robberies, thefts and robberies were confirmed by police sources.
