QUETTA: A police assistant sub-inspector (ASI) was shot dead on Sunday by unknown armed men here at Zarghonabad area of the metropolis. According to police, a mobile was on routine patrol when armed assailants opened fire at ASI Azizullah, leaving him injured and fled from the scene.
The officer succumbed to his injuries on his way to the hospital. His body was handed over to his heirs after legal formalities. A case has been registered and investigation is underway. Police parties raided various parts of the provincial capital in the search of criminals involved in an attack. However, no suspect person had been detained till the filing of this report.
