Karachi: AVCC recovers 3 captives, arrests 4 kidnappers
KARACHI: The Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) arrested four kidnappers, recovering three captives in separate raids in the outskirts and different areas of the city here on Tuesday.
The first raid was conducted near Hamdard University where a team of AVCC recovered Deputy Managing Director Pakistan Steel Mills Saeed Ahmad. He was kidnapped from Surjani area some 15 days ago and a case (29/12) had also been registered in this regard.
Similarly, a businessman Imran alias Mani, who was abducted from Nazimabad about two days ago, was recovered from the Kati Pahari area.
One more captive, Imran Shah, was recovered from Sakran. SP Ghulam Subhani said that Shah was kidnapped from Gulshan-e-Hadeed in the first week of January.
SP Subhani further said that there were three groups, including Ghafoor Bugti, Hazaroo Mari and Wali Muhammad Brohi involved in these kidnappings, adding that the culprits demanded a ransom of Rs 2 million for the release of each captive. However, he dispelled disclosing the names of detained persons as raids were being conducted to bust their gangs.
