Karachi: Female professor murder Case; Final autopsy report sought

KARACHI, Jan 24: A sessions court on Tuesday directed a medico-legal officer to submit a report in a case pertaining to the 2008 murder of a retired female professor.

 

Two accusedSaleem alias Shabbir and Khalida — have been charged with killing their employer, Professor Dr Zeba Zakia, in January 2008.

Dr Fareeda Mobin of the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre appeared in court and deposed that she conducted the post-mortem examination of the deceased.



However, she did not submit the final report about the cause of death and the court directed her to file the same till Feb 8.

The body of the 75-year-old victim was found dumped in the bushes on Jan 29, 2008 within the remit of the Sachal police station. The victim was unmarried and used to live alone in her Gulshan-i-Iqbal residence.

A case (FIR 55/2008) was registered under Sections 302 and 34 of the PPC at the Gulshan-i-Iqbal police station.
