Lahore: ‘Landgrabbers arrested’
LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir has said that every civilised society creates sense of protection among its citizens in which they are sure that nobody can illegally occupy their property.
The CCPO informed the media that the Lahore Police, during the year 2011, in their ongoing campaign against land grabbers had registered about 255 cases in this regard whereas 1218 culprits had been arrested.
The CCPO directed the police officers to continue crackdown on land grabbers and to ensure exemplary punishment as per law to those who indulged in such illegal activities. Ahmad Raza Tahir said that the Lahore City was to be transformed into a city where no powerful person could usurp the property of any weak person and warned that strict action would be taken against an SHO in whose areas land grabbers operated.
