Rawalpindi: Woman wounded in police raid to nab bootleggers
RAWALPINDI: A woman was wounded when Waris Khan Police stormed into a house in Dhok Framan Ali on Wednesday night, police sources said. The woman, Sana, 33, has been shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital with sharp cut on her throat. The woman alleged that police personnel attacked her with a sharp weapon and tried to cut her throat while the City Police Officer claimed that she herself had inflicted the wound when the police raided the house.
The police attacked the camera crew of Geo TV, beat them up and snatched their cameras when they reached BBH for the coverage of the incident.
A police party raided a house in Dhok Farman Ali claiming that they had received a tip that liquor was being sold in the house, but they recovered nothing. On the other hand, Sana, while talking to media in BBH, said that police stormed into her house and ransacked the house. One of them attempted to disgrace her and attacked her with a sharp weapon but she pushed him away.
