KOHAT: Huge quantity of drugs was seized by police from a car coming from tribal area on Indus Highway here on Saturday.
Two inter-provincial smugglers Aaosalamim and his son Kareemullah were arrested and their car (LA-6792-Karachi) was impounded.
Riaz Khan Shaheed police said that the suspicious car was stopped near the Kohat tunnel toll plaza for checking. Upon search 30 packets of hashish weighing more than 33kg and two packets of opium of one kilogram each were recovered from it.
The smugglers had loaded the drugs in Darra Adam Khel.
They are residents of Tala Khel area of Bannu district. The police have initiated investigation into the case to know the dispatcher and the recipient of the contraband.
