GHALLANAI: Unidentified gunmen kidnapped six shepherds in Halimzai tehsil of Mohmand Agency on Monday, sources said.
The sources said the shepherds, whose identity could not be ascertained, were grazing their cattle in the mountain of Parang Darra in Halimzai tehsil when they were kidnapped. Following the incident, the political administration called a jirga of the local tribal elders to cooperate with the government in the recovery of the kidnapped shepherds.
In case of non-cooperation, they were warned that the administration would take action against the tribe under the collective responsibility section of the Frontier Crimes Regulation. The security forces also launched a search operation in various areas of Baizai tehsil near the Pak-Afghan border for the recovery of the kidnapped shepherds but no arrest has been made yet.
