LAHORE: A man shot dead his 60-year old mother and 32–year old brother over a property dispute in Imam Bargah Street in Raiwind City on Tuesday.Police said Mehmood Sajid opened fire on his mother Majeedan and younger brother Maqbool Ahmad after both sides got into an argument over a five-marla plot.
KARAK: A young man committed suicide over a domestic issue here on Tuesday.Police said Umer Fayaz, a resident of Ghundi Mir Khankhel, committed suicide by shooting himself with a pistol. The relatives of the deceased registered FIR of the incident in Sabirabad police station.
TAKHTBHAI: Unidentified thieves broke into a house and took away gold ornaments and cash in Takhtbhai town on Tuesday, sources said. The sources said the thieves sneaked into the house of Umarzada and broke the locks of the room and decamped with 10 tolas of gold ornaments, Rs20,000 in cash and other valuables. The family members at the time had gone to visit their relatives while the head of the family is working abroad.
LAKKI MARWAT: Police claimed to have arrested four members of a gang involved in human trafficking here on late Monday night. Police officials said that acting on a tip off, they arrested two men and two women near the city’s graveyard. They were identified as Jehangir, Sadullah, Naseema Bibi and her daughter Aqsa.
LAHORE: Garden Town police claimed on Tuesday to have arrested four teenaged members of a cell phone snatcher gang and recovered from them eight cell phones, four pistols, including a toy gun, 18 bullets and two bikes. Garden Town circle ASP Tariq Aziz told a news conference that Some Mohafiz Force officials during patrolling took three suspects into custody from Ata Turk Block.
LAHORE: CIA Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested an illegal arms dealer and recovered 22 automatic guns and five pistols from his possession during a successful operation. According to a police spokesman, the CIA police have launched a crackdown against the dealers involved in selling illegal weapons to the criminals on the directions of the Capital City Police Officer, Ahmed Raza Tahir.
LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Aurangzeb on Tuesday awarded death sentence to one Faisal Shabbir on the charge of murdering a person during a dacoity attempt. The court has directed the convict to pay Rs. 200,000 as compensation to heirs of victim. In case of default in payment of compensation, the convict will face a year in jail. The said convict in a bid to dacoity had intercepted one bike rider namely Allah Yar. But the bike rider offered resistance. During a scuffle, Faisal shot bike rider dead.
BAHAWALPUR: The police claimed on Tuesday to have solved the blind murder of a trader and arrested three suspects. Muhammad Imran was shot dead allegedly by three motorcyclists in a robbery bid at his brother’s shop on Railway Link Road around a month ago.
LAHORE: The Sattukatla and Nawab Town police claimed on Tuesday to have busted two notorious gangs and arrested six of their members who were involved in numerous crime acts in the City. Saddar Division SP (Operations) said the arrested men – Faizan Mota, Mukarram and Rizwan – were involved in several crimes in the Sattukatla police area. Muslim Khan, Arif and Saeed were operating in the Nawab Town area, the SP said.
MANSEHRA: The Anti-Corruption Establishment has arrested two officials in Battagram for their alleged involvement in embezzlement of funds, meant for rehabilitation of 200 schemes destroyed in Oct 8, 2005 earthquake. “We have launched investigation into embezzlement of funds and arrested a tehsil municipal officer and a sub-engineer, who withdrew funds without rehabilitating a water supply scheme,” Ijaz Khan, the in-charge of ACE, told a press conference on Tuesday.
