Mirpurkhas: Abducted govt official, driver recovered

MIRPURKHAS: The police have safely recovered a senior government officer and his driver who were kidnapped three days ago, during an operation in a village of district Sanghar. However, no arrests could be made.

Police sources revealed that on a tip off, Umerkot and Sanghar police, during a joint operation, conducted a raid at village Eidu Mari, near Khipro town. The heavy police contingent cordoned off the village and during a thorough search for over three hours, recovered Jan Muhammad Nohri, district education officer, Umerkot, and his driver Mir Muhammad Nohri.



According to SSP Sanghar Abdullah Sheikh the kidnappers managed to escape. However, they have been identified as Yaroo Mari, Dadu Mari and Niazoo Mari. Raids are being conducted to arrest the accused involved in the heinous crime. The SSP said the police had also recovered a Kalashnikov, a repeater, a double barrel gun, two cars, a motorcycle and many police uniforms used in crimes.
